Niacin and chemotherapy side effects

Chemotherapy can often cause long term development of leukemias. Niacin supplementation of cancer patients may decrease the severity of short- and long-term side effects of chemotherapy, and could improve tumor cell killing through activation of poly(ADP-ribose)-dependent apoptosis pathways.

IPM’s Super B-Complex  is a powerful, comprehensive B vitamin combination formula that offers therapeutic doses of the most important B vitamin forms. Please click here or call reception at 949-600-5100 for more information.

More on CoQ10 and sperm quality

Supplements of co-enzyme Q10 may improve the motility and density of sperm in infertile men, according to a new study.

The researchers reported a significant improvement in both sperm density and motility following supplements of the coenzyme. A positive association was also found with regards to sperm count. Further analysis showed an increase in the percent of normal forms of sperm.

IPM has a suite of CoQ10 products, including our 100mg softgel and Liquid CoQ10.

Take IPM’s Glutathione after eating your swordfish

Large game fish are know to contain higher concentrations of methyl-mercury, a highly absorbed form of this toxic heavy metal. Cells treated with methylmercury showed a significant reduction in glutathione peroxidase activity. Also, there was a significant decrease in cell viability and an increase in cell death. Glutathione peroxidase, an enzyme family with peroxidase activity whose main role is to protect cells from oxidative damage, completely blocked Methylmercury induced damage to the mitochondria, the cell’s energy production centers. A recent study suggests that glutathione peroxidase is an important target for methylmercury-induced neurotoxicity, presumably because this enzyme is essential for counteracting the pro-oxidative effects of methylmercury both in vitro and in vivo.

IPM’s Essential-GSH is a highly absorbable form of glutathione in a liposomal form. This formula is suitable for vegetarians and is ideal for patients with heavy metal toxicity and/or high oxidative stress.
