EBOO – A Powerful NEW IV Ozone Therapy

Intravenous ozone therapies have been very popular and effective treatments here at IPM for many years. Beginning January 2023, a powerful new intravenous ozone therapy will also be available. EBOO stands for Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation. Extracorporeal simply means outside the body. This technique administers higher doses of ozone than any other and is generally smoother to deliver and more potent than 10-pass ozone therapy.

During EBOO therapy two venous access points are established, one for extracting blood and one for returning it.  Using a gentle pumping action, a constant flow of blood passes through a group of permeable tubes collected in a filtering device. The entire system exists in a closed loop. Oxygen containing ozone passes through the filter into the blood, which then flows back to the patient.  The process is continuous for about one hour and about three liters of blood are treated. Heparin is added during the process to prevent blood from clotting.

Treating a larger quantity of blood, as is done with this procedure, provides a stronger effect.  Ozone is beneficial in killing bacteria, viruses, and parasites. Ozone alters metabolic pathways to enhance oxygen utilization and detoxification. The action of ozone is to create controlled inflammation that promotes an immunologic response to resolve inflammation and heal tissues.

EBOO therapy is indicated for the following conditions: coronary artery disease, cerebrovascular disease, peripheral vascular disease, chronic fatigue, autoimmune disease as well as other inflammatory conditions, and nutritional deficiency states. EBOO and ozone therapies may also be beneficial for patients who experience “long-COVID” or extended fatigue and symptoms after recovering from COVID-19. We recommend several treatment sessions for most patients. Repeat courses of treatment may also be desired later.
