OzoneOzone is a powerful and rapidly reacting super oxygen that is consumed within minutes after its production. It is produced from oxygen through the application of an electric current. When applied directly it kills bacteria, viruses, parasites and mold. When given systemically it has the effect of improving oxygen utilization and enhancing energy production. Also, by creating a mild oxidative stress, it stimulates the immune system to be more active. Because it is unstable, ozone must be utilized within several minutes of being produced, or it will no longer be effective.

We have been using ozone for several years to treat musculoskeletal problems as a component of prolotherapy. We have given ozone rectally to treat intestinal problems such as colitis. In its strongest systemic formulation, we have given ozone by major autohemotransfusion (MAH). The patient’s blood is withdrawn through a needle by gravity, heparinized so it doesn’t clot, then combined with an equal volume of ozone at high concentration, and infused back into the patient. This process has required about 40 minutes, or 80 minutes for a double-pass.

This year I learned about the 10-pass technique from Dr. Robert Rowan, who has been responsible for the proliferation of ozone therapy in the United States, along with Dr. Frank Shallenberger. Ten passes, or ten times the treatment of a single pass, can be given within 60-90 minutes by using a special ozone machine to vacuum the blood into a glass bottle, then return it rapidly by applying pressure into the bottle.

The 10-pass is a very powerful and safe treatment. It is used to treat infections, inflammation, auto-immune disease, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, chronic pain, and multiple neurologic conditions including Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, stroke, brain and spinal cord inflammation of various types. It can treat Lyme disease, shingles, recurrent herpes simplex, influenza and pneumonia.

Because it is so powerful, the 10-pass should not be given more than once a week.

OzoneOne of ozone’s major effects is the production of energy. After receiving 3, 5 and 10-pass treatments, I have experienced vast increases of energy within one day. I recommend the 10-pass for people looking for more energy, or about to embark on difficult endeavors. It can help with recovery from surgery or accidents.

Initially there may be some tiredness right after the treatment. This usually lasts just a few hours.

It is important to be well-hydrated before the treatment, or blood may not flow easily through the catheter and IV tubing. Drink one gallon of water at room temperature during the day before treatment. Because heparin is used to keep blood from clotting, people with active bleeding, such as women during menses, should not be treated.

Although ozone is not specifically a cancer therapy, it can support the immune system of individuals with cancer, including those on chemotherapy or radiation therapy.

The 10-pass is a remarkable addition to ozone therapy. Call our office for more information, and to arrange treatment.
