Allan E. Sosin, M.D.

Allan Sosin is the founder and medical director of the Institute for Progressive Medicine. He received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School and is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology, the study of kidney disease.

For thirteen years Dr. Sosin ran a private internal medicine practice in Philadelphia. During that time he became increasingly interested in alternative approaches to medical problems including nutrition, vitamin and mineral therapies, chelation therapy, acupuncture, natural hormone replacement therapy, exercise and stress management, chiropractic and massage. During his time in Philadelphia he organized and directed two drug detoxification centers. He also held the position of Assistant Medical Director at The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential, a world-renowned facility for the treatment of brain injured children. In 1997 the Institutes for Human Potential awarded him the LEONARDO DAVINCI AWARD for his work.

In 1995 he and his family moved to Newport Beach where he worked As the Medical Director of a prominent integrative medical clinic. He was instrumental in introducing new therapies, including Enhanced External Counterpulsation (EECP) for the treatment of cardiovascular disease. In the year 2000, Dr. Sosin received the PHYSICIAN OF THE YEAR AWARD from the National Health Federation.

Dr. Sosin is an expert in the use of natural approaches to replace drugs and surgery. He has over 40 years of clinical experience in treating patients with traditional therapies and 15 years experience using alternative methods in combination with conventional medicine. He is a member of the American College for the Advancement of Medicine (ACAM) and is a certified Defeat Autism Now!® physician. Dr. Sosin has also worked extensively with IV therapy, acupuncture and natural hormone replacement therapy. He has successfully treated thousands of patients with serious medical conditions. Dr. Sosin is the author of two books, Alpha Lipoic Acid: Nature's Ultimate Antioxidant, and The Doctor's Guide to Diabetes and Your Child, and has appeared on both radio and television.
 

Victoria Cupic, M.D.

Doctor Cupic completed a three year residency in family practice at Advocate of Christ Hospital, Chicago, IL. She is board certified in Family Practice and holds medical licenses in California and Illinois. Dr. Cupic has additional training in natural, bio-identical hormone replacement using subcutaneous hormone pellet therapy. She is also a graduate of Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice, a course developed by the Institute for Functional Medicine in Gig Harbor, Washington.

Her special interests include preventive medicine, women's medicine and children's medicine. Dr. Cupic helps men, women and children of all ages with a wide variety of medical conditions and concerns. She is a certified Defeat Autism Now!® physician, and treats children with autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit and hyperactivity, and other learning and communication problems without the use of psychotropic medications.

Julie Kahn Harden, N.D., L.Ac.

Dr. Harden earned her degree in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. She went on to complete two degrees in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, the first at Bastyr University and an advanced degree at South Baylo University. During her residency, she trained at both the Bastyr center for Natural Health and the NCNM Natural Health Center.

Dr. Harden completed advanced education in infertility, gynecology, nutrition, functional endocrinology, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, environmental medicine, and cranialsacral therapy. She is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the California Naturopathic Doctors Association, the American Association of Oriental Medicine and the American College for Advancement in Medicine.

Dr. Harden followed her passion for preconception health care and natural fertility treatments to Sydney, Australia, where she completed an internship at the Jocelyn Center for Natural Fertility Management and furthered her study in reproductive endocrinology. She has created a comprehensive program to optimize fertility for both men and women and support the birth of healthier babies.

Ling Huang, L.Ac.

Dr. Ling HuangDr. Huang has worked as an acupuncturist and traditional Chinese medicine practitioner for more than 13 years, healing thousands of patients through acupuncture and herbal therapy.

Having trained as a physician in western and traditional Chinese medicine at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in mainland China, Dr. Huang noticed that a  combination of treatment approaches is a more effective gateway for obtaining optimal health.

Dr. Huang has worked at Shuguang Hospital of Shanghai, in a private practice in Indonesia and as an acupuncturist and herbalist in California. She has lots of experience in treating people of different ethnicities and backgrounds and has learned that a listening ear, careful observation and a concerned heart are very important to successful treatment. She is fluent in both English and Chinese.

Dr. Huang is happy to join the Institute for Progressive Medicine to help patients realize their own level of optimal health and well-being. She currently has many patients who are middle aged, facing hormone imbalance and the aging process while also often suffering from pain, emotional stress, sleep disturbances, headaches and fatigue among other symptoms. She has been able to help them to achieve wellness and improve their quality of life.
